AIRBUS suffered late heartbreak at Bala as a last second header from the league top scorer Chris Venables cruelly snatched the points..
With the clock already past the alloted four minutes of added time, the game was heading for a draw until Venables found himself some room in the box to head home.
A miscommunication at the back almost gave the Lakesiders the lead but Dave Roberts, returning from injury, got down low to deny Henry Jones after Kristian Platt had let the ball go over his head in the six yard area.
Airbus then responded to the early pressure from Bala by creating chances of their own but were unable to test Josh Tibbetts as George Peers fired over after a free kick was sent in by Roberts in his own half who found Liam Williams who then headed down to Peers.
A rare mistake for Roberts almost gifted Louis Robles a goal after he spilt a shot from Lassana Mendes but managed to re-gather the ball quickly. Andy Owens thought he had given Airbus the lead on 25 minutes as he headed the ball into the back of the net but the linesman had his flag up for offside.
But the striker should have opened the scoring minutes later when he hit the post from six yards out after a brilliant ball in by Curtis Strong
Roberts kept the score level again just before halftime with another fine save from but, after the break, it took a fine tackle by former Wingmaker Jonathan Spittle to deny George Peers.
Another ex-Airbus man, Mike Hayes, had the best chance of the second half as he tried to chip Roberts but substituteBrady McGilloway should have won it for the Wingmakers in the final minute when he fired over from point blank range after a brilliant cross from sub James Hooper.
George Hughes received a red card after the final whistle to add to the Airbus woes.
