AIRBUS UK Broughton chief Andy Preece was delighted with a 5-0 home win over Port Talbot, but is keeping his feet firmly on the ground.
"It was a really good performance, it has to be against Port Talbot," Preece said.
"The first 25 or 30 minutes it was really tight, Port Talbot showed what a good side they are, but some of the football we played today - especially in the second half - was great to watch.
"It was a little bit slippy but it didn't cut up as much as it sometimes does here, so I don't think the conditions played too big a part, I thought some of our passing movement and some of the goals we scored were really good quality.
"Sometimes people say we are pretty direct, but there was nothing direct about us, we mix the game up and showed that today."
The Wingmakers went into the game without Ryan Wade, who was ill, and also brought in debutant Sam Hart at full back for Jack Lewis.
Preece admitted he could have selection problems against Newtown on Friday: "We made a few changes today, I feel we are capable of doing that, we've got lads who have been waiting for a chance and they took their opportunities really well."
The win leaves Airbus just three points adrift of reigning champions The New Saints, but Preece was more interested in results elsewhere.
"There were big results for us with Bala and Connah's Quay losing and us beating Port Talbot, which means we maintain our position away from them and consolidate in the top six, that's all we're looking at," he added.
"If we'd lost today we'd only have been one point ahead of Port Talbot, that's how tight it is, so we are being positive but there is a lot of work to be done.
"If we can be in the top six when it cuts off then we'll look up and see how far away we are."
