CENTRAL midfielder George Hughes has joined the Wingmakers following his release from Shrewsbury Town.

The 20-year-old captained the Under-18s at the New Meadow before receiving his first professional deal in April 2017.

Hughes had a short loan-spell with Colwyn Bay before then moving to Clitheroe on-loan and then Stalybridge Celtic and Newtown, where he made 13 Welsh Premier appearances last season, scoring once.
