THE Wingmakers will not be facing matches against Rhayader Town this season after the mid-Wales outfit resigned from the Huws Gray Alliance.

In a statement, the mid-Wales outfit say: "This is a decision we have not taken lightly and we have explored every avenue to try and fulfil our commitments to the league.

"For several seasons commitments in this league have become a burden and this year it has come to a head and the realisation that players do not want to travel what can be 324 mile round trips to play a game of football.

"We apologise to all clubs that our decision has affected and accept any punishment that the league and FAW sanction. Whatever happens we will still be playing football next season."
