DIRECTOR of football Andy Preece hailed a whole-hearted display in the mud after heavy rain made for arduous conditions at Haverfordwest County's Bridge Meadow Stadium.

Tony Gray's second-half goal secured an away day win for the under-strength Wingmakers and Preece said: "The pitch was really cut up by the end, and it was just a case of digging in and playing percentage football.

"We showed a lot of determination and togetherness, again we had lads playing out of position, so it was a great result.

"The conditions were never going to be conducive to playing football, although we did put together some good moves, one which led the goal.

"Again, you've got to give the players so much credit for another clean sheet.

"We're really pleased to be where we are with the problems we've had, although there's still a lot of work to do."
