ANDY Preece praised his players despite seeing the Wingmakers dumped out of the Word Cup by The New Saints on Thursday night.

Two key judgements by referee Lee Evans proved crucial and Preece was left wondering what might have been had decisions gone his way.

"I thought we did really well and played some great stuff," he said.

"We got an early goal which is important against TNS and, although they had some possession after that, I was happy with the way things were going.

"Their lad used his hand to stop the ball before laying it off for their equaliser, it was a critical decision.

"We recovered from that and Mike Hayes was through and pushed over, it was a penalty and a sending-off.

"In a semi-final of a cup and against TNS at home you need one of those decisions to go for you.

"We could be in the final of a cup competition but for a couple of decisions so it is all positive in terms of performance and I am proud of the effort.

"TNS have only conceded 13 goals all season and we have scored four of them so confidence is high," Preece added.

Airbus are next in action on Friday night when they visit Nantporth to face Bangor City (7.30pm).
