Riley at the double to unravel the Silkmen

A BRACE from Wayne Riley gave the Wingmakers another pre-Europe friendly victory, this time against Chris Herbert's new-look Flint Town United side.

Airbus were in control in the early stages and Riley crashed home a shot from 12 yards to hand the hosts the lead after 15 minutes.

Riley then curled a free kick just over the bar with Airbus comfortably in control at the break.

But it took a superb save from keeper James Coates to keep out a shot from the Silkmen's Kyle Smythe just after the break.

A Riley back heel found Ryan Wignall, whose cross was met by a bullet header from Matty McGinn, superbly kept out by ex-Connah's Quay keeper Terry McCormick.

Tony Gray had the ball in the net within seconds of that chance but was denied his first Airbus goal by an offside flag.

But the lead was extended on 65 minutes when Riley produced another cracking finish after being played in by Ellis Healing, who then blasted over from close range from McGinn's cross.

Healing was wide with another attempt before Airbus sub keeper Keighan Jones kept the visitors at bay with two good saves.
