Chairman Mickey honoured at league's AGM

AIRBUS UK Broughton Football Club chairman Mick Mayfield was honoured by the Welsh Premier League at the weekend.

Mickey received a long and meritorious service award at the league's annual general meeting in Aberystwyth.

He started with the Wingmakers as a player in 1967 and has held various positions since, including assistant manager, manager, secretary and chairman on two occasions.

Apart from his behind the scenes work, Mickey is currently best known to fans for his humorous matchday announcements.

Possibly the only chairman in the league to clean changing rooms after a fixture, Mickey has also been assisted by his wife Sue in the past in the hospitality area.
