WORK has started on replacing the grass pitch at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium with a new synthetic 3G surface.
Contracts McArdle Sport-Tec of Oxfordshire, whose work includes a synthetic pitch at Manchester United's training complex, started digging up the grass pitch today.
There to lend a hand were Paul McKinlay, football club chairman and head of the Broughton plant, Jonathan Williams (sports club manager and football general manager), Lorraine Harvey (Airbus UK Head of Facilities) and Brian Moxon (Sports Club Chairman).
The new pitch has been part-funded by major grants from the Football Association of Wales, through its Project 3G investment programme and the Broughton Wings Sports & Social Club.
