THE young Wingmakers lifted the North East Wales league cup with a 2-1 extra-time victory over Rhosllanerchrugog at Rhydymwyn.

After playing each other twice already in the league with Airbus winning 7-0 at home and losing 3-2 away in the league last month, both teams came into the game knowing they had the quality to take home the trophy.

Airbus took the lead through Liam Schofield who cooly finished past the keeper after 21 minutes and keeper Gethin Lloyd kept the opposition at bay with a great save on the half hour.

Schofield was unlucky not to make 2-0 just before half time but for a good save before Rhos equalised after 53 minutes to take the game to extra time. But

Harvey Ellis scored the winner after 105 minutes to hand the trophy to the Wingmakers.

Man of the match: Joe Davies.
