DEFENDER Tommy Holmes has been released from the Hollingsworth Group Stadium by mutual consent.

The 33-year-old signed for the Wingmakers in the 2011 close season after spending 11 seasons with TNS, where he won numerous honours and made 17 European appearances, a total bettered by only eight Welsh Premier players.

A regular in the TNS back line after arriving from Tranmere Rovers in 2000/1, he made 267 league appearances and was voted Welsh Premier player of the month in February 2009.

Since joining Airbus, he has added another 18 (+3) appearances.

"Tommy has been terrific for us and not once a problem despite not featuring much this term," says Airbus chief operating officer Stewart Roberts.

"Numerous Clubs are interested in Tosh and we felt it only fair he is allowed to choose his next club rather than loan him for a period of time.

"Everyone at Airbus would like to wish Tommy all the best in his next move."
