AIRBUS had little difficulty in booking a place in the second round of the Word Cup, beating Cefn Druids of the Huws Gray Alliance 2-0 at The Rock.
Andy Preece was able to rest some key players, handing starts to youngsters Keighan Jones in goal, James Murphy and Bailey Jackson, and also bringing-on Charlie Short and Zeb Edwards for debuts as substitutes.
It was the hosts who posed the early danger, missing a sitter from a Jack Edwards cross, before Murphy shot straight at Druids' keeper and ex-Wingmaker Adam McGee.
But Murphy showed some class with a superb finish from the edge of the box in the 17th-minute after Andy Jones had headed down a Tony Gray cross.
Druids were just wide with a volley at the other end before Gray produced a superb goal in the 36th-minute to extend the lead.
Airbus were rarely troubled after that with Tom Field narrowly with from a 25-yard free kick and Gary seeing a header saved before being denied again on the stroke of half time.
Keighan Jones flapped at a corner in a rare moment of danger after the break before Field had a tame effort easily saved.
Druids went close from a free-kick but McGee was forced into a diving save to keep out another Gray shot.
Murphy shot straight at McGee and Gray missed a close range chance after being set-up by Ashley Williams as the game came to an end.
