THE Wingmakers resumed their preparations for the new domestic season with a routine victory over Northern Premier League outfit Skelmersdale United at the West Lancashire College Stadium.
Clearly holding a fitness advantage after their Europa League exploits, Airbus were quick out of the blocks and took a fourth-minute lead thanks to a stooping header from Andy Jones.
With several of the new signings impressing, two goals in two minutes put the game beyond Skem's reach on the half hour.
Jordan Barrow netted from close range before a thunderous free-kick from Ellis Healing found the back of the net via the underside of the crossbar.
The lead was extended on 63 minutes through Jordan Johnson before United grabbed a consolation goal six minutes from time, Connor McCarthy holding the ball up for Danny Coid to drill the ball home.
But Johnson had the last word with his second of the game as the full-time whistle was about to be blown.
