New 3G pitch

The playing surface at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium was replaced in 2014 with a FIFA-approved 3G synthetic surface.

Continuous evolution and innovation has resulted in development of the latest sports surface in-filled with sand and rubber.

The original Third Generation (3G) artificial turf pitches used fibrillating yarns that offered value for money.

The newer harder-wearing two tone profiled monofilament yarns installed at Airbus improve the aesthetic look and long term performance of the artificial sports surface, controlling ball roll and compliance with FIFA regulations for a longer period of time.

The pitch is installed over an engineered macadam base, providing a hard wearing, stable surface that improves playing characteristics.
