FORMER Wingmakers Paulo Mendes and Ryan Edwards haunted Airbus as Aberystwyth gained revenge for a home defeat earlier in the season.

The game started positively for Airbus when Andy Owens latched on to a backward header from a visiting defender before firing into the top corner from the edge of the box.

But the game turned in the Seasiders' favour in a few minutes just before the half-time break. Mendes headed home at the near post from a corner and Steve Tomassen then deflected a right wing cross into his own net.

Things got worse straight after the interval when an unmarked Mendes headed home from a Joe Phillips cross. Airbus had penalty claims when Owens was felled by Wes Baynes and Sam Hart's powerful shot was tipped over the bar by keeper Connor Roberts.

But Liam Williams was dismissed for a second yellow after fouling Mendes and Aberystwyth took full advantage of their numerical superiority when Adam Hughes got his head to a corner and Edwards then defeated keeper Lewis Hall from distance to complete a nap hand for the visitors.
