AIRBUS scored a late equaliser to earn a well-deserved draw with unbeaten Cardiff Met.

After an evenly-contested first half hour, the Wingmakers fell behind when keeper Lewis Hall brought down Charlie Corsby just inside the box and Eliot Evans converted the resulting penalty.

In the second half, Hall made a good tip away save and Will Evans hit the bar, but Airbus kept plugging away and a Jordan Evans cross from the right found the far corner from a Joel Edwards deflection.

"At 1-0 down you only need one chance and we always tell the players that the chance could come in the final minute or two," said assistant manager Andy Thomas.

"Teams get nervous late on and you just need to take the chance when you get on - we were able to do that.

"There was nothing really in the game, which was played between two evenly matched teams.

"What was pleasing was our defence, which was outstanding. We didn’t concede last week against Carmarthen and we didn’t concede from open play against Cardiff Met.

"We defended set-plays brilliantly and it was a solid performance."
