AIRBUS finally broke their Cymru Premier duck with a well-earned 2-1 victory away at Aberystwyth Town's Park Avenue.

The Wingmakers were always the better side and took the lead on 16 minutes when Kristian Platt celebrated his return from injury with a superbly-struck low free kick from 25 yards out into the bottom corner.

Andy Owens was just wide of the target from Alex Darlington's pass, while Darlington himself just missed with a lob.

Straight after the break the lead was doubled as, from a breakway, Ryan Edwards crossed for Owens to net with a well-taken finish at the far post. Owens sent a snap shot straight at keeper Connor Roberts and then headed just over the bar from a Jake Phillips cross.

Edwards sent a lob just wide and Platt had another excellent free-kick well-saved before the hosts set-up a tense finish. With nine minutes remaining, the wind took a bouncing cross away from the clutches of keeper Dave Roberts and Luke Boundford was on hand to score.

The Seasiders pressed hard for an equaliser in the remaining 13 minutes, but Airbus held firm for a thoroughly-deserved three points.
