TWO players who featured for the Wingmakers last season staked a claim for a return as they scored in a 3-2 defeat at Colwyn Bay.

Jamie Menagh, who left the club in January to work in Spain, opened the Airbus account with a superb 25-yard free-kick into the top corner after 12 minutes. And, in the 72nd-minute, Obi Anorou scored against his former club, defeating keeper Matt Cooper at his near post.

But, in between, defensive errors proved costly as the Seagulls hit three first half goals. With a static defence appealing in vain for offside, Jamie Rainford took full advantage as he scored from a long ball.

Seven minutes later, the hosts went in front when another defensive lapse allowed Jack Hindle to connect with a Rainford pass to fire past Andy Coughlin.

Another goal arrived four minutes later when Kyle Jacobs picked out Astley Mulholland who sent his shot into the far corner. Hindle then had a chance to extend the lead before the break, but fired over the bar from a good position.

After reducing the arrears, Anorou went close to an equaliser but the home side held on for the win.
