THE Wingmakers' relegation from the Welsh Premier League was confirmed at a sun-drenched Belle Vue as they were beaten 2-1 by Rhyl.
Less than 12 months after appearing in both the Welsh Cup and Europa League Play-Off finals, Airbus return to the Cymru Alliance after 12 seasons in the domestic top flight.
But, despite losing defender Leon Clowes in the pre-match warm-up, Airbus went down fighting. They dominated the first half and, with better delivery from crosses and set-pieces could well have gone into the break with a commanding lead.
They were finally rewarded two minutes after half time when Steve Tomassen netted at the far post from a teasing Glenn Rule free-kick. They held their lead until the 78th-minute but were undone, yet again, from a corner which was netted at the back stick by Chris Rimmer.
And the hammer blow arrived two minutes from the end of normal time when a raking right wing cross found Steve Lewis in space and the substitute netted the winner.
