AIRBUS slumped closer to the relegation trap door with a 4-1 defeat at Newtown as they remain winless after four games in the Welsh Premier League's second phase.
But, once again, the Wingmakers failed to take their chances as they dominated the Robins in the early exchanges. Ryan Fraughan volleyed over the bar before a run from Lee Owens ended with the defender finding Ryan Edwards, whose shot was saved by keeper Jack Perry.
After Neil Mitchell and Nick Rushton had gone close for the home side, the Wingmakers did take the lead when Tony Gray's header found the net from a corner. But the goal only served to bring the hosts to life and they were soon in front. A Luke Boundford cross found Alex Fletcher who glanced a header past Shaun Pearson and, seven minutes later, ex-Wingmaker Jason Oswell sent a looping header over the keeper.
Shortly before the hour mark Mitchell pulled the ball back for Fletcher to score at the near post. Sub Obi Anoruo headed just over the target soon after replacing Reece Deakin, but blotted his copybook with an elbow on Shane Sutton to receive a red card with 10 minutes remaining.
And Newtown took full advantage of their numerical superiority to extend their lead in the 89th-minute when Kieran Mills-Evans converted a low cross from Ryan Kershaw.
