AIRBUS produced their best pre-season performance with a 6-2 demolition of Glossop North End at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium.

The Wingmakers were ahead inside the first minute when Kristian Platt's free-kick from the left eluded everybody in the box to nestle in the far corner. The Hillmen were back on level terms with a well-taken goal but a three-goal blast just before half-time put Airbus in control.

Andy Owens headed home from an Alex Darlington free-kick and was again on target with a header from a Jordan Evans byline cross, before the visiting keeper failed to hold Curtis Strong's shot from the edge of the box and it dropped behind him into the net.

Evans crashed shots against the crossbar either side of the break but the visitors then reduced the arrears against the run of play.

But, when a corner was partially cleared, Sam McCormick netted from the rebound and Darlington was gifted the sixth goal after a dreadful mix-up between the keeper and a defender.
