Airbus UK Broughton almost secured a draw at TNS`s Park Hall on Tuesday Night after a spirited second half display against the Full Timers. Eventually going down to an 85th minute goal from Phil Baker.

After a difficult start despite an early attempt from Nev Thompson , Airbus lost Skipper Tommy Holmes on his return to Park Hall with a Hamstring Strain and within ten minutes had also lost Mark Cadwallader with a tight calf, replacements Danny Grannon and Josh Griffiths coming in an performing well on the night. Grannon back after suffering injury at Aberystwyth some 3 months ago.

Airbus fell behind to a Chris Sargeant goal as TNS were the better side in the first 45mins with Airbus probably shading the second period with Nev Thompson and Mark Danks causing the hosts problems, indeed even more so when Jon Bathurst replaced Mike Hayes after 70mins Airbus were more direct and were causing TNS a few defensive problems with Steve Evans and Pip Baker under constant pressure from the Wingmakers attacks.

TNS had made 6 or so changes but such is the strength of their squad they were still playing their usual keep ball football, debutant and former Airbus target Sam Finley in particular impressive.

Airbus were missing Gavin Cadwallader (Cheek) Glenn Rule (Knee) Craig Whitfield (foot) and Ross Rule through suspension as well as Danny Desormeaux who has made himself unavailable in the short term.

The result means both sides still have a chance to progress when the return leg is played at the Airfield on Tuesday 28th Feb with a 7.30pm on what will be Craig Harrisons return to the Airfield for the first time since departing for the full timers.
