THREE Airbus academy players all played their part in two fixtures against the Republic of Ireland earlier this week.

George Rathbone, Keighan Jones and Eddie Speed played for the Wales Under-18 Academies in fixtures against their Irish counterparts held at Haverfordwest County on Tuesday night and Port Talbot Town on Wednesday afternoon.

Wales were unlucky to go down to a 1-0 defeat on Tuesday, but bounced back on Wednesday to draw 1-1.

Eddie Speed started both games at right back, while goalkeeper Keighan Jones started the game at Haverfordwest and forward George Rathbone made substitute appearances in both games.

"A huge well done to the boys, who have attended numerous training camps prior to being selected," says academy coach Dave Riley.

"Everyone at the club and at the academy is immensely proud of your performances."
