THE Wingmakers christened the new 3G surface at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium with a 3-0 victory over Newtown on Friday night.
Goals from Ryan Wignall, Ashley Williams and Matty McGinn sealed the win over the Robins, who had goalkeeper Dave Jones sent-off late-on.
The visitors made a bright start in which Jamie Price had a fierce free kick well stopped by keeper James Coates.
Glenn Rule sent the first Airbus chance way over the target before Neil Mitchell, played-in by ex-Wingmakers Jason Oswell, was denied in a one-on-one by Coates.
Mitchell glanced a heading chance wide for Newtown but it was home skipper Ian Kearney who spurned the best opening of the night so far, heading inches wide from a corner.
Despite the Robins enjoying plenty of possession it was Wignall who turned the game, created a chance for himself on the edge of the box before lashing a shot past Jones via the underside of the bar.
Three minutes before the break the lead was extended as Williams curled a shot past the Jones from 18-yards.
Early in the second-half the game was made all but safe as Williams provided the cross for McGinn to net his first Wingmakers' goal with a back post header.
Newtown were reduced to 10-men on 67 minutes when Chris Budrys was brought down by keeper Jones.
The visitors introduced youth team stopper Jack Perry who did well to prevent Airbus from adding to their tally despite considerable late pressure.
