DIRECTOR of football Andy Preece hailed the goal which won Saturday's Welsh Premier League game against Newtown as 'top drawer'.

The winner arrived on 54 minutes and ironically was scored by former Robins' skipper Andy Jones, who joined the Wingmakers in January.

"We had a number of opportunities in the first half which we didn't take, but AJ popped up with a great volley," Preece said.

"It was top drawer, he just waited and waited and waited until it was right.

"That is the difference, that composure when everyone else is running around a bit headless and he has that composure, what a strike, fantastic finish.

"Newtown made it difficult for us, but we know what a good team they are to break down," Preece went on.

"They are well organised and made it difficult, while the wind did not help and we had to work hard."

"We were patient and we deserved to win the game comfortably.

"I think we showed the character and determination to win the game and keep pushing TNS to the end."
