THE New Saints' midfielder Sam Finley has accepted a charge of violent conduct from the FAW for an elbow on Ryan Wignall during the Saints' Welsh Premier fixture at Airbus UK Broughton on February 22.

The incident was not seen by referee Huw Jones or his assistants and went unpunished.

But the player was subsequently charged after watching Sgorio footage of the offence and Finley will now serve a three-match suspension.

Airbus director of football Andy Preece was frustrated by the FAW's disciplinary procedures which meant Finley was available for the Welsh Cup quarter-final tie at Park Hall the following Saturday in which he scored the second goal.

Ironically, Finley's first game back after his ban will be against the Wingmakers in what could prove to be a vital game in the Welsh Premier title race.
