FOOTBALL Association of Wales president Trefor Lloyd Hughes will officially open the new synthetic 3G pitch at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium.

A substantial proportion of the total project cost has being funded by a grant of £350,000 from the FAW through its Project 3G investment programme, which is funded via the UEFA Hat-Trick programme.

The final touches are currently being applied to the facility in preparation for a grand unveiling on Saturday August 16, when Airbus UK Broughton will take on local friends and rivals Gap Connah's Quay in the annual Macron Flintshire Cup.

The stadium will be open from 9am when our community clubs and Airbus employees have been invited to come and enjoy the 3G surface.

At 11:30am, both Academy primary squads will play games on the 3G until 1pm, showcasing the best of the local Flintshire talent.

There will be an opening ceremony at 2.15pm when the ribbon will be cut by both Lloyd Hughes and our chairman, followed by kick-off at 2.30pm.

We would like to invite all our sponsors and partners to attend the day as our guests - each of our 2014/15 sponsors will have 10 complimentary passes for the game.
