AIRBUS UK have the ability to challenge The New Saints all the way to the end of the Welsh Premier League season - that's the view of two of the pundits on S4C's Sgorio.

"The script is still being written," said former Wales goalkeeper, Dai Davies on Monday night's show.

"But the squad is strong and the lads coming off their bench are influential and a key factor too."

With 11 games played in the Welsh Premier League, Andy Preece’s men are top of the league, three points clear of the reigning champions, The New Saints, and are yet to lose this season.

"The only worry I have is about the state of the pitch," added Davies. "It was very wet on Saturday (at the Airfield), and that could cause a few problems for them over the winter.

"It’s going to be close. It’ll be neck and neck but I believe they are strong enough."

And former Wales striker, Malcolm Allen, agreed that Airbus are the only team who will challenge The Saints.

"Airbus weren’t at their best (against Prestatyn) but they secured the three points, and that’s the only thing that was important," said Allen.

"But I think the Saints are on a different level to everybody else in the league.

"Whilst Airbus will be a threat to the Saints, I can see teams parking 10-men behind the ball against Airbus – especially at The Airfield – and causing them problems.

"But there’s no two ways about it, the three games remaining between Airbus and The New Saints will decide the destination of the title."
