FLINTSHIRE rivals Gap Connah's Quay have completed a raid for the Wingmakers' central defence by signing Mike Pearson, following last week's capture of Ian Kearney.

Bangor-born defender Pearson progressed through the Oldham Athletic youth system, making his Football League debut in February 2007.

After a loan spell with Farsley Celtic he was released and joined Barrow where, after recovering from a double leg break, he went on to captain the side and make 151 appearances.

A Welsh semi-professional international, he joined Airbus in June 2013 and has scored four goals from 81 (+1) WPL appearances. He has been voted into the WPL team of the season for the past two years.

He also appeared for Airbus in six Europa League ties, scoring in the away defeat at Haugesund in Norway.
