UNDER-19 player Dominic Doherty came off the substitutes' bench on Sunday to make his Welsh Premier League debut against Cardiff Met and, in the process, became the 21st academy player to represent the first team in a competitive fixture.

It capped a whirlwind week for the 18-year-old, which saw him join in the first team training last week and also sign his contract on Thursday.

He was joined on the bench by fellow academy graduates, Zebb Edwards and James Murphy, while Bailey Jackson started the game in midfield.

Dom was part of the same academy team as Bailey Jackson and James Murphy who won the NEWFA U19 Cup in 2015.
