ANDY Preece was delighted with the Wingmakers' biggest-ever Welsh Premier League win on Saturday, but warned that the stunning 7-1 success at Newtown was just another three points.

"It was a fantastic result," said the Airbus UK Broughton director of football.

“They have beaten some of the top teams in this league this season and one or two of the managers we spoke to said they were the best team they’d played.

"But it’s only three points, it’s only one performance. It’s all about doing it consistently."

Abbott, Budrys and substitute Jordan Johnson picked up knocks in the match.

Airbus welcome struggling Aberystwyth Town to the Hollingsworth Group Stadium on Saturday (2.30pm) and Preece wants his players to play with the same ‘intensity’ they displayed in the victory over Newtown, which moved them up to fifth and just four points off top spot.

"It was all about the start," he added.

"We scored early and put them on the back foot, but even before then we had set the tone."

Aberystwyth are bottom with five points from seven games, but Preece believes they have the players to finish far higher up the table.
