Airbus UK Broughton Director of Football Andy Preece has been busy in the transfer market in January and has strengthened the Wingmakers Squad for a push towards a play off place and a crack at the Welsh Cup.
Despite only joining the Airfield outfit on the 16th January the New Boss made the most of his contacts to sign his players from over the border in England. All of the players registered have gained international clearance thanks to the help of the FAW Registrations Dept.
Preece had identified the Wingmakers squad as needing bolstering in the attacking areas and as such has signed 4 forward minded players to compliment Mike Hayes and Craig Whitfield and to also compensate for the loss of leading goal scorer Ian Sheridan.
Mark Danks has joined from Stourbridge and has a good goalscoring record especially when he has played for Preece before, Danks will certainly excite the Airbus faithful with his pace and finishing ability, Danks has featured for Wolves, Bradford City, Worcester City, Northwich Victoria and AFC Telford.
Also joining are two big front men, with Neville Thompson returning to the Welsh Premier League from Stafford Rangers, Thompson is a Strong and Powerful centre forward who has plenty of ability and a fantastic scoring record, previously he had turned out for Caersws as a youngster, also a centre forward is Jon Bathurst a physical player from Ashton United who will add another dimension to the Wingmakers attack with his no nonsense approach.
Also joining is Luke Mack who has been tracked by the Airfield outfit for some time, a tricky attack minded midfielder who joins from Hyde FC, Adding some steel and experience to the Defence is Jay Connolly from Burscough , the former Southport and AFC Fylde defender joins after leaving Burscough recently.
The final additions to the Squad will be the Director of Football himself who has registered in case of emergency and Andy Morrison`s son Aaron Morrison joins as additional Goalkeeper Cover.
The only player that has departed is Club Stalwart Mark Allen who will be presented with a service award at the Welsh Cup Quarter Final v Carmarthen Town on the 25th February with a 2.30pm
Danny Grannon is almost ready to return from injury , although Danny Taylor and Nikki Lee Bulmer are carrying slight knocks whilst Danny Desormeaux is unlikely to feature any time soon after making himself unavailable over the Christmas period onwards.
