A STOPPAGE-time goal secured Airbus a 1-0 win over Conwy Borough in a game that was otherwise eminently forgettable.

Despite going close in the first minute through Lewis Buckley, the Wingmakers were never able to find their rhythm and the visitors defended resolutely without posing much of an attacking threat.

Goalmouth action was at a premium with Buckley denied by a last-ditch tackle and former Airbus keeper Keighan Jones dealing well with set pieces and crosses.

Nathan Williams sent a long range effort over the bar for the visitors in the second half while Steve Tomassen headed wide for Airbus, who ramped-up the pressure as the game went into added time.

Asa Hamilton just failed to connect with an inviting cross but a goal had always looked most likely to come from the work of Curtis Strong down the left. And so it proved as the midfielder went on a surging run before crossing to Ryan Edwards who directed a diving header beyond the reach of Jones and into the far corner.
