AIRBUS have released veteran midfielder Ricky Evans, who has been snapped-up by Aden Shannon, manager of Conwy Borough in the Huws Gray Alliance.

Ricky was an emergency January signing for the Wingmakers after Chris Budrys was handed a three-match suspension and went on the make five full and eight substitute appearances in the Welsh Premier, scoring two goals.

He also appeared as a second-half substitute in the 3-1 home Europa League defeat to Lokomotiva Zagreb.

"We wanted to keep Ricky but the budget just wouldn't allow it," says director of football Andy Preece.

"He was an integral part of the squad that got us into Europe last season and I wish him the best of luck at Conwy."

Evans, who spent three years at Oldham Athletic, made Airbus his 11th port of call in the Welsh Premier, after also appearing for Welshpool, TNS, Flint Town United, Bangor City, Aberystwyth Town, Caersws, Rhyl, Cefn Druids, Bala Town and Connah's Quay.
