SUMMER signing Tony Gray is the Welsh Premier League's player of the month for August/September.

Director of football Andy Preece beat off competition from several clubs to secure the services of the Liverpudlian and has the move has paid off.

Gray heads the league scoring charts with seven goals from seven appearances and added another for good measure in Tuesday night's Word Cup victory over Penrhyncoch.

Gray scored eight goals from 17 (+4) Welsh Premier appearances for Bangor City in season 2004/5 after joining from West Cheshire League Division One Club Newton where he had played a part in the club's 2003/4 championship season.

He then moved to Burscough before making his mark in the Football Conference with Southport, Droylsden, Chester and Telford, scoring 56 goals from 133 (+29) appearances.

In 2014/15, Gray notched 20 goals for the struggling Bucks and was voted club and players' player of the season at the New Bucks Head.

Since arriving at the Hollingworth Group Stadium, Gray has shown his appetite for goal scoring and notched a superb 35-yard goal of the month contender in this month's victory at Newtown.
