JORDAN Johnson has returned to the Hollingsworth Group Stadium to join the Wingmakers' Europa League squad.
Director of football Andy Preece believes that could be his last piece of transfer business ahead of the trip to Norway to face Haugesund in the first qualifying round of the Europa League.
Johnson scored more than 30 goals for Leek Town last season and Preece says: "He knows all about Europe after last season."
The Wingmakers' chief was in Nyon for Monday's draw and says the novelty of the Europa League has certainly not worn off.
"I'm more excited for these games," he told the Leader.
"Last year we didn't know what to expect and when you get into Europe you think you've got not chance.
"We thought it was a case of getting into Europe and then going out, but this time around we think we've got a bit of a chance.
"I don't mind who we get, although I don't want a top seed."
Preparations have been under way since the back end of the 2013/14 Welsh Premier League campaign.
Friday's 2-0 success over Bangor City and next weekend's trip to Belfast to face Crusaders have allowed Airbus to play two fellow Europa League hopefuls in the build-up to the first qualifying round.
And Preece is delighted with how things are shaping up, explaining: "We have been preparing since before the end of the season because we knew we had to if we were to have a realistic chance in the competition.
"We want to get through a round and that means more preparation and more organisation than last year.
"The lads are much fitter than at this stage last year and we've done as much as we can with the time we've got."
Airbus will play the home leg against the Norwegians at Nantporth and warmed-up with Friday night's victory over Bangor, where Preece is happy with the chance to play.
The Wingmakers used Wrexham's Racecourse Ground last season, but ongoing work on the playing surface left Preece and assistant Andy Morrison searching for other venues.
"Bangor is in fantastic order," said Preece, who continued: "Probably 18 months ago we didn't want to go there because of our record, but we've changed that around and it is a great surface which you can pass the ball on."
