But they may well be left to rue some first-half missed chances as well as conceding an away goal to their visitors.

From a Lewis Short long throw, Chris Budrys had a fifth-minute header well saved by keeper Per Kristian Bratvet and Tom Field nearly found Budrys with a good through ball.

Jordan Johnson stumbled in the box when he had a chance to get a shot away before seeing a shot saved low down by Bratvet.

Haugesund's first shot on 25 minutes flew well over the bar from the boot of Joakim Vage before Airbus took the lead.

A ball into the box found Budrys, who crossed left-footed for Johnson to beat Tor Arne Andreassen to the ball and score from close range.

The goal woke the visitors from a slow start and Sema's 18-yard lob hit the bar with keeper James Coates beaten.

Andy Jones soon responded with a header from Short's cross that went just wide and another long thrown from Short caused problems but just eluded Budrys.

Daniel Bamberg fired just over the bar for Haugesund on 42 minutes but found his range moments later, beating Coates from the edge of the box from Lund Gytkjaer's pass.

Vegard Skjerve fired well over as the second half got under way before Coates made a good diving save to deny Alexander Stolas.

Sema fed Skjerve who forced a diving save from Coates on the hour as the visitors started to control the game.

Budrys did well to hook the ball on for Johnson, whose mis-hit shot was easily collected by the visitors' keeper, who did well to keep out a Field free kick after Andy Jones had been fouled just outside the box.

From the resulting Field corner, Mike Pearson flicked the ball on to Andy Jones, whose shot was blocked and, although Johnson netted from the rebound, a flag had gone up for offside.

Coates was back in action to make a near post save from Stolas and then made a superb save to stop Bamberg as the game came to a close.
