THREE players from the Airbus academy have been called into the Wales Under-18 Academies' Representative Squad.

Mitchell Jones, Edward Speed and Rhys Jones join 14 other players who have been named to participate in a training camp over the weekend of December 6 and 7.

The team is managed by Mark Pike, Port Talbot Town's head of youth, who says: "These matches are an excellent opportunity for players who have come through the FAW Academy system to play international football in the red of Wales.

"We have already seen players like Ryan Hedges and Aaron Hassell (Airbus) play at this level before being signed by Swansea City and Leicester City respectively.

"They are now both with Premier League clubs, so the aim of this squad is to put more of the excellent young academy players in the shop window."

The squad, for which the Wingmakers' Chris Doran is also the goalkeeping coach, will prepare for two international fixtures to be played in February.
