DIRECTOR of football Andy Preece believes his Wingmakers could strike a huge psychological blow against Europa League rivals Bangor City by recording back-to-back Welsh Premier League wins over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

On Friday Airbus host fifth-placed Prestatyn Town (7.30pm) before making the long trip to sixth-placed Carmarthen Town on Monday (2.30pm).

A maximum return from the matches would leave Airbus at least four points clear of third-placed Bangor in the race for runners-up spot and automatic qualification to the Europa League.

"It's important we do get a good couple of results because if we do that will heap the pressure on Bangor who don't play the following week," Preece said.

"We could put ourselves in a really strong position. But if we do we know there's still a lot of work to be done."

Airbus have already recorded three wins over Prestatyn, scoring 15 goals with just one against, but Carmarthen are something of a bogy team.

The Old Gold won 2-1 at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium early in the season and won by the same scoreline in the return game at Richmond Park.

"We find it difficult when we go down to Carmarthen, there's no doubt about it," added Preece who will be without the suspended Tom Field for both of the weekend games.

"It's such a shame for Tom.

"He's been in outstanding form and he's one of the best midfielders in the league without a shadow of a doubt."
