AIRBUS lost their unbeaten tag as a long Friday night trip to Aberystwyth's Park Avenue took its toll.

It took the hosts less than two minutes to open their account, Mark Jones seizing on a wayward back-pass to fire home past keeper James Coates.

Geoff Kellaway lobbed Coates who scrambled back to clear the ball off the line but, on 21 minutes, Craig Williams lobbed the ball into the area and Chris Venables reacted quickest to add the second.

Chris Budrys headed wide and Ryan Wade also went close for the Wingmakers, but Kellaway then hit the side netting  and a long range Williams lob was just about tipped over the bar by Coates.

THe Seasiders conceded plenty of possession in the second half but Airbus were mostly restricted to wayward shots off-target and assistant manager Andy Morrison was sent to the stands.

Wade fired inches wide again but, at the other end, Kellaway’s pace was a major concern for the visitors and Mark Jones also put two shots over the bar.

With 17 minutes remaining, Airbus got back into the game when Steve Abbott bundled home Glenn Rule’s right wing cross.

But it was the home side that went closest in the closing stages, when Kellaway's cute shot rebounded off the bar and Jones just failed to grab a third, before some strong defending from Sion James and Stuart Jones saw the hosts through.
