THE Wingmakers crashed out of the Word Cup to The New Saints at Park Hall after giving a good account of themselves for an hour.

The scores were level at 2-2 after before the controversial dismissal of goalkeeper Ben Chapman, who was adjudged to have brought down Jason Lampkin when through on goal.

Kyle Armstrong took the gloves but was unable to prevent Chris Seargeant from converting the resulting penalty and although the hosts seriously failed to test the stand-in keeper, two stoppage time goals from Alex Darlington and Lampkin gave the scoreline a lop-sided look.

Earlier, after surviving a good start by TNS in which Chapman made a diving save and Steve Evans headed over the bar, the Wingmakers had taken a 13th-minute lead when Tommy Holmes headed in from a Tony Jones free-kick.

TNS were ahead by the break, although there was a hint of handball as Greg Draper laid the ball off for Ryan Fraughan to drive the equaliser into the far corner.

Airbus had strong claims for a penalty turned down by referee Lee Evans when Connell Rawlinson pushed Mike Hayes in the box before Seargeant cut the ball back from the byline for Chris Marriott to score.

Mike Hayes equalised soon after the break following a corner before Chapman's dismissal changed the course of the game.
