ANDY Preece believes his Welsh Premier manager of the month award is testament to the great strides Airbus UK Broughton have made under his command.
The 45-year-old took over as director of football in January after Craig Harrison left to join The New Saints.
Preece led the Wingmakers to the Welsh Cup sem-finals and into the Europa League play-offs last season before totally reshaping his squad in the summer.
And the former Blackpool, Stockport County and Wrexham striker's decision to make wholesale changes is certainly paying off.
His side sit fourth in the table just four points behind leaders Prestatyn Town and hit the top of the table last month after winning three of their four fixtures in a goal-laden October.
"It's a great achievement for everyone at the club," Preece told the Flintshire Chronicle.
"A lot of hard work has gone in going all the way back to last season in getting the best squad together we possibly can.
"We've stuck to the budget we've been given and we've got real value for money, which is exactly the same as the previous manager, there is just a little difference. And when I say difference I'm talking £100-£150.
"We're doing well and it's nice to have it recognised with the award.
"Awards go to the manager but it's a collective thing for everybody at the club. It's given us a huge lift to get it and it shows the progress we've made in a short space of time."
