AIRBUS were held to a 1-1 home draw by a determined Porthmadog whose second-half performance deserved to take a share of the spoils.
It was the Wingmakers who took the lead with the first serious effort on goal after 20 minutes when, following a foul on the left, Leo Riley delivered a free kick for an unmarked Steve Tomassen to head home from 12 yards out.
Visiting keeper Paul Pritchard did well to keep out a close range effort from debutant loanee Nathan Woolfe but the visitors were soon back on level terms when Shaun Cavanagh's well-struck free kick defeated keeper Dave Roberts at his near post. Curtis Strong's superb cross failed to find a finisher and the wing back was then forced off with an injury.
Sam Hart went close with a header soon after the interval but Porthmadog started to play some excellent football and could have taken the lead when Iwan Lewis sent his effort over the bar from a Tomos Emlyn cross.
Cavanagh fired just wide and then narrowly over the bar from distance and Roberts was forced into a full stretch save from Lewis. But, after defending for some time, the Wingmakers responded and sub Asa Hamilton fired into the side netting while a dangerous Woolfe cross was cut out by Pritchard.
Cavanagh shot over the bar in the closing minutes while Joe Chaplin's attempt to snatch a winner against his former club was halted by a Mike Sharples tackle.
