AIRBUS snatched a victory from the jaws of defeat to maintain their perfect start to the season with an 11th straight win at Buckley's Globe Way ground.
It says a great deal about the grit and determination of the Wingmakers that they were able to grind out a victory from a generally sub-par performance in which they found it difficult to break down a resolute Bucks' rearguard.
In the first half, Leo Riley fired wide from 20 yards and Joe Chaplin also missed the target, while it took a good stop from keeper Joe Makaruk to keep out a Kristian Platt drive.
The hosts had a couple of good chances and Dave Roberts made a good save with his feet as the first half ended all-square, but Town started to gain momentum after the break, threatening from a succession of corners. Luke Blizzard fired a shot against an upright and it came as no surprise when Dylan Roberts swept home a right wing cross on 78 minutes to hand Buckley the lead.
But Airbus responded with two goals inside the last five minutes. Following a corner, the ball dropped to Platt who blasted home from 12 yards and, as the game went into stoppage time, Roberts took a free kick from just inside the home half which found substitute Lewis Buckley, who lashed a first-time winner into the far corner to spark wild celebrations from his team mates.
It was tough on Buckley who produced an excellent and well-organised performance, but leaves Airbus 12 points clear at the top of the table.
