AIRBUS lost their unbeaten tag in all competitions as they were comprehensively beaten 5-1 by Welsh Premier leaders Connah's Quay in the second round of the Nathaniel MG Cup at the Deeside Stadium.

There was no repeat of the previous round's heroics at Cefn Druids with the hosts in control for most of the game and taking the lead on 14 minutes when Dave Roberts saved a shot from Jay Owen only for Jack Kenny to net from the rebound.

Roberts did well to save from Rob Hughes but was beaten again midway through the first half when Hughes released Craig Jones who fired home.

Three minutes before the break, Hughes hammered an 18-yarder past Roberts via the underside of the crossbar and the lead was extended soon after half-time when Hughes finished low into the bottom left corner from 10 yards out.

On 55 minutes, the Wingmakers scored a consolation when a good cross from Brady McGilloway was converted at close range by James Hooper. But the Nomads had the last word when Ryan Wignall broke into the box before scoring from close range.
