AIRBUS duly progressed to the second round of the FAW Welsh Cup, but were made to work hard for a 3-0 victory by Mid-Wales League opponents Bow Street at the Hollingsworth Group Stadium.
Once again there were excellent contributions from the young Wingmakers, with George Peers starting the game on the left hand side, Oli Lanceley coming on as a sub and fellow sub Jack Murphy scoring the final goal of the afternoon.
Pavel Vieira's 20-yard shot was easily saved by keeper Steph Richards in the early exchanges while, at the other end, Andy Coughlin had no difficulty dealing with a long range effort from Mark Gornall. Alfons Fosu-Mensah was just wide with a crashing shot from the edge of the 18-yard box before Airbus took the lead on 33 minutes when a left-wing corner from Wes Baynes eluded Richard's grasp and flew straight into the far corner.
The lead was doubled in the 54th-minute when Leo Riley scored from Fosu-Mensah's byline cross. Sub Luke Busumbru hit a post on his return to duty after injury and a Peers header was saved by Richards, who also did well to keep out a rasping Riley free-kick.
But, after Steve Tomassen had headed wide from a Baynes cross, the Magpies defence was finally breached again six minutes from time by Murphy, who did well to find the back of the net after being picked-out at the far post by Riley's pinpoint cross.
Airbus: Andy Coughlin, Wes Baynes, Bailey Jackson, Steve Tomassen, Jamie Crowther (Luke Busumbru 46'), Pavel Vieira, Kristian Platt, Leo Riley, Ryan Edwards, George Peers (Jack Murphy 77'), Alfons Fosu-Mensah (Oli Lanceley 83').
