IT is with regret that Airbus UK Broughton FC has to announce the mutual parting of the ways between ourselves and our manager Andy Preece.

Since his arrival at the club we have had success that we could only have dreamed of prior to him taking up the reins here at Airbus.

It has been a fantastic ride with Andy on board and all at the club would truly like to thank him for all the success that he has brought to us, and to wish him and his family all the best in the future.

Andy Preece commented: "What an amazing four and half years we’ve had. When we came to Airbus, the club’s biggest achievement was finishing seventh in the league and reaching the Welsh Cup quarter final whilst our target was to reach Europe within three years."

"Since then, we’ve qualified for Europe three times, losing only twice in six matches, we’ve been Welsh Premier League runners up twice, finishing in the top six in all four seasons and we’ve enjoyed some fantastic cup runs and were desperately unlucky not to win the final of the Welsh Cup last season. We can all be proud of these achievements as everyone who has been involved has played their part.

"There have been some memorable games, including our fine record against the champions TNS who we have challenged each year and got some fantastic results against and of course the European adventures, especially the incredible performance in Zagreb.

"I'm incredibly proud of our youth policy and those 20 or so academy players, who have made their debuts in the first team in the last four seasons. Some have and will go on to greater things and we take pride in giving them a head start with their careers.

"We have built a squad during pre-season capable of pushing the top four this season and I hope the players will work hard, enjoy the challenge and emulate the club’s recent success in the years to come.

"I leave the club in a stable position and whilst I would have loved to have continued taking the club forward, it is now time for a fresh challenge. I wish all associated with the club the very best and hope the club will continue achieving its targets and rewarding the fans for their unwavering levels of support.

"Thank you to you all."
