AIRBUS were held to a goal-less home draw by bogy team Llandudno as a defence strengthened by recent signings kept a first clean sheet since the opening day of the season.
In truth, although the Wingmakers dominated possession, it was a fair result in a game of poor quality in which both sides failed to find a cutting edge in front of goal.
Keeper Shaun Pearson made a great save in the fourth minute to keep out a first time volley from Marc Williams before James Joyce put an effort wide for the visitors. Williams also went close with a diving header in an otherwise forgettable first half.
The hosts came out with some purpose after the break and former Wingmaker Danny Taylor did well to block a Ryan Edwards shot. Tony Gray saw his snap shot deflected out for a corner and Edwards drew a good save from Dave Roberts with a curling shot.
Jamie Reed went close for Llandudno with a shot that flew just over the bar but a volley from Gray was close to giving Airbus the lead. Pearson again came to the rescue with a double save from Reed and Williams and the defence combined to block a Lee Thomas shot.
Gray then missed a gilt-edged chance to claim a late winner at the far post from Glenn Rule's teasing cross but, as they pushed for a winner, Airbus almost suffered a sucker punch when Danny Hughes crashed a shot against an upright and Mike Williams scooped a close range shot over the bar in stoppage time.
STAR MAN: Keeper Shaun Pearson made some excellent saves to keep the visitors at bay.
