Wingmakers - April 2010 news
.
April 3 Airbus take a point with
injury time equaliser.
Newtown raced into a 2-0 lead on the half
hour, Dylan Blain scoring both the home sides goals.
Carl Owen pulled a goal back for the Wingmakers on
37'. All the excitement came in the final few minutes,
firstly Jiws equalised for Airbus on the 88' then
within a minute Newtown were back in front 3-2 when
Callum Wright gave Newtown back the lead. But it
wasn't quite over and Carl Owen had the last say with
his 2nd and our 3rd in injury time to claim a point
for Airbus.

April
1 Newtown match preview
With so many teams with nothing to play for, our
away game is of massive importance to both sides, more so to Newtown who sit
just outside the top 12, while we lie in 8th and have the points on the board,
though wearingly looking over our shoulders at the teams directly below us.
We go into our 6th meeting at Newtown and can boast a rare
stat that we have never lost at Newtown in our previous 5
meetings, we have won 3 and drawn the other 2, and only
conceded 2 goals in those 5 meetings. But this meeting has
more at stake for both sides than any of the previous
meetings at Latham Park.
Going into the game Newtown have been dealt a blow by
losing on loan keeper Dave Roberts who has been recalled
by his club Aberystwyth following a training session
injury picked up by their regular keeper, and manager Ryan
will be forced to use young keeper Dave Jones to fill in
between the posts. Talking about injury's and keepers we
wish Kristian Rogers and Matty Woodward speedy recovery's
from their injury's they picked up against Bangor last
time out.
Going into the Newtown game, both sides are evenly matched
in their points total accumulated home and away, Airbus
have picked up 21 of their 41 points on the road, while
Newtown have taken 17 of their 34 points at home (what say
a draw on the cards) but Newtown do leak plenty of goals
at Latham Park 27 in their 14 games, only Caersws have
conceded more at home in the league, while Airbus have the
league's 3rd best defensive record away only letting in 12
behind only TNS and Llanelli.
It is going to be an important Easter weekend with many
important games over the next 7 days, but with Airbus only
having the one game we need 3 points against Newtown on
Saturday to stay in the top 8 as 4 of the 5 teams teams
below will be playing 2 games each.
