The Wingmakers - Match Report 2009/10

.

Haverfordwest 1-1 Airbus UK Broughton (Sat 23 Jan)

Airbus were never in much danger of losing this but they could easily have come away with all three points and remain teetering on the brink of that dangerous eleventh spot in the table.

There was a perky opening from The 'Bus, pressure on and a goal disallowed for offside before a Giovanni Feliciello corner was lashed into the netting angle by Carl Owen. The Bluebirds' first chance came soon after but most of the half was spent with Airbus looking comfortable. Marc Lloyd-Williams was put through by Carlo but couldn't keep control of the ball and the defence mopped up. Then right at the very end, disaster as Matty Woodward gave away a penalty & Jack Christopher scored for the home side.

Jiws put things right early in the second half, turning, shooting & scoring the equaliser. Shortly after Tom Rowlands ran in and sent a drive in that clipped the bar. Jack Abraham came even closer, rasping in one of his own that clanged the underside of the crossbar. Haverfordwest contrived an incredible miss in front of an open goal but that was their only real chance of the half, Ryan Edwards answering by fizzing a shot wide of the far post and Rollo had another go himself, Idzi doing well to tip over his shot.

Airbus the better side, then but only the one goal for their efforts and The Bluebirds will be more pleased with their point than the Airmen.
